Maple Tree blocking light & causing damage to balconies Reported anonymously at 09:11, Tue 10 May 2022 The huge maple tree in the corner of Queens Gardens, just before the entrance to The Glades, has grown so large it is now completely blocking the light to residents flats in Lownds Court. I have submitted photos from 2020 when the tree was in full leaf, and from the Queens Jubilee in 2012 for context, showing the extent of the growth. This year it is even worse and now in May I am getting no light into the flat, which is really depressing as this outside access was one of the main reasons for buying the flat. (when the tree was small). This is giving easy access for squirrels to come onto the balcony and they have caused damage to furniture. Would it be possible for the higher branches, which are causing the problem, to be pruned or cut down completely, especially as the leaves are now getting fuller. In the Summer months the problem is so horrendous I cannot enjoy the balcony at all. The flat above me is now also having the same problem.
