FTR Sat 7 & Sun 8 May: Fly-tipping at Green Street Green Recycling Site Reported by Friends of Green Street Green Common at 11:45, Thu 16 June 2022 For the record (FTR) dumping/fly-tipping of non-recyling bin waste occurs every week at the Green Street Green Recycling Site. Veolia staff are great at clearing excess rubbish on and around the recycling bins daily, often twice-daily, but this merely hides the problem rather than tackles the cause. Not only is the site unsightly for local residents, it is a health hazard with domestic food waste and packaging being dumped. Wind-blown rubbish spreads into the undergrowth on The Green and along Pinewood Drive verge (where it is often shredded by idverde mowing). Repeated requests for improvements to 'binfrastructure' have been ignored. Local councillors have refused/ignored requests to meet to discuss this and other anti-social activities locally.
