Massive pothole, incredibly dangerous.
Reported in the Road defect category anonymously at 20:15, Thu 28 December 2017
Sent to Bromley Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1169173.
I was riding my solo motorcycle home, Christmas Eve at approx 2230hrs, bearing in mind it is an unlit Road, at approximately 40mph when I struck this pothole. I was incredibly lucky to stay on my bike. The force of the impact forced my pannier (hard built-in luggage compartment) to pop open as I went along the road. I am concerned it may have weakened the latch/lock on the pannier lid. I note that on my ride home today the pot hole is still there, unprotected and no attempt at a temporary fix. I hope that the apparent lack of action does not result in a life threatening or life changing injury to anybody. I spoke to someone when I stopped to take the photograph today and he said it has been ongoing for quite some time. I would like to think that the local authority would not leave such a sizeable pothole without any apparent consideration for the safety of road users.

The temporary fill put in place has already, rather unsurprisingly, disintegrated. This hole is dangerous and requires an urgent permanent repair. Throwing some bitmac down it will not suffice. If there are any injuries caused by this defect I am willing to provide witness statements to the involved party.
