Any chance of tidying this corner up? It is littered with clothes, beer cans, paper and weeds too! A real eyesore which has come about since the recycling bins were removed.

Sent to Bromley Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1414493.

The Council's Street Cleansing contractor will tidy litter and rubbish at the immediate edge of these shrub borders to keep the public footways clear.
The shrub borders on this corner are the responsibility of Tesco to maintain and the Store Manager has been advised of this Fix My Street report.

Whilst the pavement has been swept, the clothes have been removed, the paper cleared away, the fallen apples collected and your contractor has experienced a close encounter with a local rat, the beer cans remain in the shrubbery and either Tesco's or yourselves need to take full responsibility for the clearance of said cans!

Is 'someone' going to take responsibility and remove the collection of beer cans in the shrubbery, please?(They were still there yesterday.) It doesn't matter how many are deposited there, it won't result in a 'beer tree' growing! This matter is not 'closed' until said cans are removed.

As outlined above, the shrub borders on this corner are the responsibility of Tesco to maintain. We have contacted the Store Manager to advise them of this issue.

.......and when exactly are they going to do this and who is going to check that they do, please? This has come about since the recycling bins were removed and Tesco's don't seem to be in any hurry to accept their responsibility in this regard, so what authority do you have over Tesco's and how are you going to monitor this situation or are you merely abdicating this issue?

......and how exactly will you monitor this issue and how often? Today there are plastic bottles, KFC papers, crisp packets on the path and the beer cans are STILL in the shrubbery. Are you hoping that all present and future rubbish blows into the bushes so that it all becomes Tesco's problem? This example epitomizes the way that I feel that Bromley treats the Elmers End part of Beckenham and remember that 'perception is reality'. Please ensure that some action is taken. Please!

....and yet another week goes by and the beer cans are still there and even more rubbish accumulates in that particular corner of Elmers End. How is the monitoring coming along? What has been the reaction fro Tesco's?And when will this corner be tidied up, please?

Another weekend of monitoring and escalating has been and gone and the rubbish is still there. As Bromley Council are unable to ensure that Tesco's meet their obligations to the local environment, where do members of the public go to next to 'escalate' reporting of this perpetual eyesore and to ensure resolution, please? Thank You!

Could this matter also be escalated to Environmental Health, please, as neither you or Tesco's seem to wish to take ownership of it. As at the time of writing there is still rubbish gathering both on the footpath and in the shrubbery with at least four used Nytol bottles discarded on the path! Someone is having problems sleeping!

As the issue concerns rubbish on an area which is not public highway or is regarding pest control this report has been passed to Environmental Health to investigate and is now closed on FixMyStreet. For information, enforcement action against rubbish will be taken depending on the nature of the accumulation. Bromley Council only have powers to enforce the removal of rubbish which contains material that could attract pests or pose a risk to public health.

Can this report be reopened, please? Another week goes by and Tesco's STILL have not taken responsibility and tidied up this corner which continues to worsen and is fast becoming a dump for litter and rubbish. Bearing in mind the rodent infestation in this particular area, do Environmental Services now need to become involved, please?

Thanks for your further contact. The clean up is the full responsibility of the nearby Tesco store and as a Council we are in contact with them to ensure they fulfil their obligation, including communicating with their Head Office directly to seek a meaningful resolution of the problem.

Many thanks to 'whoever' cleared up the majority of beer cans from this corner. It is now much tidier but there are still some bottles, cans and litter remaining and one more effort should see it all cleared for the time being and it would then be easier to keep clear, clean and tidy in the future. Many thanks again, sincerely.

One Tesco basket, several discarded beer and cider cans, one discarded broken umbrella, scattered waste paper are items among the rubbish building up in this corner, again. Please Bromley and Tesco's, could you jointly ensure that this doesn't return to the eye sore that it was so recently? Thank You and Happy New Year!

We ask that new and separate occurrences of issues are logged as new reports to avoid conflicting information or updates and ensure the information is passed promptly to our contractor. Please log the issue via https://fix.bromley.gov.uk as a new report using the map marker and description to detail where the issue is located. Please note that if the location you wish to mark is already occupied by a pin, you can hide the map pins via the button in the bottom left or you can click a nearby free section of the map to drop your green reporting pin so that all other yellow pins indicating existing reports disappear, you can then click and drag your green pin to the correct location and continue submitting your report.

Although the path has been cleared and tidied up, the bushes and shrubbery have not. Thank you Bromley, but could someone at the council remind Tesco's that they need to do their bit too!

Just covering up the rubbish with leaves isn't exactly clearing it up you know!

Thank you for your further update. The Council has received a response from the store manager at Tesco advising of a problem they had with their cleansing provider. That said, they have given their word they will continue to push this issue forward in the coming weeks with a view to permanent resolution. The Council will maintain an open dialogue with Tesco to ensure this issue is resolved soon. DH 27/01/2019.

Please note that Tesco have now undertaken ground works to bring the amenity of this area back up to satisfactory standard, and are working to ensure a sustained programme is built in to their (Tescos) regular operations to prevent a further slide back to undesirable levels of litter build up. Should you have any further commentary on this issue, please contact Tesco Elmers End directly for their attention. I will mark this case as fixed. We appreciate your feedback throughout this process up until now. DH 30/01/2019
