Request for pedestrian refuges

Sent to Bromley Council 3 minutes later
Request for pedestrian refuge(s) on the stretch of Southend Road between Brackley Road and the Waitrose (almost 1/3 of a mile). As this is a heavily residential area, with bus stops along Southend Road, New Beckenham and Ravensbourne train stations, schools, and several sports/recreation grounds on either side of Southend Road, as well as an entrance to the very large Beckenham Place Park, many people cross this very busy road at various points along the road to get to these. At least one refuge or safe crossing at the Park Road/Southend Road junction would be a huge improvement. Thank you.
Thank you for your report, this is now being investigated. Information on our services and the timeframes we aim to respond in can be found: http://www.bromley.gov.uk/ fixservices

This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.
Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.
