Very noisy manhole cover in the middle the market square

Middle of the road opposite Jennings and Cafe Rouge. I believe this junction had a major overhaul last year. Why can't this work be done to a high standard the first time?

  • For information, the order for this repair remains outstanding within our contractor's planned schedule of work. Further arrangements are currently being undertaken to provide traffic management and/or the necessary specialist equipment in order to undertake the works.

  • This manhole cover is audibly and visibly moving when vehicles pass over it. Cracks around it suggest that the cover is in danger of collapse.

  • Major cracks appearing around the manhole with about a 2 foot drop.

    Not only is manhole at visible risk of collapse, it is also a tripping hazard for cyclists or pedestrians crossing the road
