Blocked drain.
Reported in the Road and Pavement Issues category anonymously at 21:12, Sat 27 July 2019
Sent to Bromley Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1710652.
Drain near the road signs is blocked so that when it rains heavily, or for a long period of time, the road floods and vehicles unable to avoid the resulting large puddle cause splashing onto the pavement to such an extent that pedestrians have to time their transit past the location to when there is a gap in the traffic.

Southend Road is within the boundary of the London Borough of Bromley at this location. I know this to be the case as I live in Southend Road not far from his site.

Still no action as at 12 August ! Whilst looking at this drain they need to sort out the next one along the road as well. You can just see the pooling due to it being blocked between the two sign posts.

04/09/2019 It rained again today. As the contractor has not done anything to the drain it flooded the road once more!

Whilst the contractor may have cleaned the drain, there is still a problem with this drain as the water is very slow in draining away and when it is raining the problem of over pavement splash from road vehicles still exists for pedestrians walking on the pavement.

Once again (Thursday 24 October 2019) a puddle has formed at this location resulting in pedestrians having to run past it to avoid getting soaked by passing traffic.
Obviously any work carried out to unblock the drain (if it was ever cleared out ) has proved to be totally ineffective.

Thank you for your report. Our contractors have cleaned the gullies but the issue with water "running slow" it`s still on-going. This now require further investigation which will be carried out as soon as it can be arranged and would be done under a new enquiry.
