Verges and pavements have not been cleared of leaves from Autumn
Reported in the Street Cleansing category anonymously at 23:05, Thu 9 January 2020
Sent to Bromley Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1928967.
Verges and pavements on Copers Cope Road down from junction with Southend Road have had no appropriate leaf clearance last Autumn. Many of the verges are completely covered in sodden masses of leaves which have been left there for months. Some verges eg the one outside property 1d are muddy swamps the verge having been completely ruined. I saw the contractor using a leaf blower on one occasion in the Autumn but the leaves were just blown to a new position against the wall where they have remained. Surely the contractor should be removing the leaves not just relocating them. Urgent action please to undertake the long overdue job of leaf clearance or all the verges will be irrecoverable.

I have just walked along the pavements and past the verges referred to in my original report and no action has been taken as you state. The same piles of leaves are still there.

Your update of 24 January stated that the contractor been asked to complete the work . This has not happened and the verges are now in a even more sorry and unkempt state as today’s photos show. Urgent action is needed if the verges are ever to recover . T

This report has been reviewed by a Neighbourhood Officer and where it still proves necessary the grass verges will be reseeded during this spring season and the Street Cleansing contractor will be closely monitored to prevent repeat leafing issues during Autumn 2020.
However due to the current pandemic crisis and in line with government advice to protect the population at large, LBB will be unable to action this report within its usual timeframes. Non-emergency reports (such as this) are being recorded and actioned as soon as these circumstances permits.
