Accumulation of pigeon poo - unsightly and health hazard - Elmers End Rd, under Birkbeck rail / tram metal bridge road island
I have also reported this by email to Bromley Customer Services Centre today 17.22pm Fri 24 Jan 2020 with more photos.
The 'effect' is an accumulation of pigeon poo on the central highway island (by the pelican crossing) and pavement either side. Please clean this up and undertake regular cleaning until a permanent solution to the cause is undertaken. There is also some food waste on the southern pavement nearby, and a rusty unsightly City AM newspaper dispenser on the footway - please remove these too. The 'cause' is lack of pigeon-proofing on the girders on the metal bridge underside. please kindly press Network Rail / Railtrack to completely pigeon proof this bridge, and also the Beckenham Road bridge on the same line, further south. The street scene is awful here, and I understand pigeon poo is a health hazard. this is an area well used for rail and tram users, Stewart Fleming Primary School pupils, visitors to the shopping parade etc. The whole bridge underside needs proofing, not just parts. Please use a solid mesh or sheet not plastic 'fishing net' which just traps and slowly kills birds. This is a problem going on for decades and is therefore long overdue needing fixing in the interests of the street scene and public health. Thank you for your attention to this. Bridge Number is '525 BBJ - Elmers End Rd between Birkbeck and Beckenham''
