3 abandoned vehicles (1 untaxed)

Reported in the Abandoned and Untaxed Vehicles category anonymously at 12:07, Friday 13 March 2020

Sent to Bromley Council 4 minutes later

I, along with others, have reported 3 abandoned vehicles in Balmoral Avenue but nothing has been done. The tax on one of them (OE52 OFU) has expired along with its MOT and the MOT on the one it is attached to (P514 TMY) has also expired. The Irish registered van (05-C-4818) was dumped at the same time as the cars. The abandoned vehicles are taking up valuable parking spaces in a road where parking is at a premium due to Eden Park High School and Beckenham Rugby Club and they have also encouraged fly tipping in the road which the council have had to spend time and money on removing.

  • The Van bearing Irish plates has been served with a warning notice in line with EU legislation. We have to be satisfied that this vehicle has been in the UK for a continuous period of 6 months before enforcement can be considered. The Black Jeep is taxed until October 2020 and as such we are unable to consider further enforcement as we do not have legislative powers to deal with MOT incursions. Only the Police can deal with these. The Peugeot is untaxed and will be served with a tax warning and a copy sent to the DVLA for their consideration. This report will remain open in the respect of the Peugeot only, please note for future reference that we do ask for each vehicle to be logged on separate reports to avoid conflicting information or updates. None of these vehicles are considered to be abandoned.

  • We have investigated this report and found the vehicle to be taxed therefore no further action will be taken. Please note that from 01 October 2014 it is no longer a legal requirement to display a tax disc.

State changed to: No further action

  • Hi complainer, very sorry, not checked this site for a bit, I did not know parking was such an issue in a road I been parking in since 1990. I guess not such a problem now, not much school, no rugby. I move my jeep and 406, asap, but I supposed to self isolate, and just getting over broken ankle.

In the good old days, people used to leave a simple note on your car, so much quicker. As no matter how many complaints on here, owner does not know unless they search this site, the council, only contact keeper, under some circumstances.

I got nothing to do with any other vehicles, in Balmoral.
