Harvington Park - Litter everywhere
Reported in the Parks and Greenspace category anonymously at 12:46, Sat 23 May 2020
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2126367.
This morning while walking the dog, I was pretty shocked at the litter that permeates through the whole park. It’s everywhere: around the edges in bushes and in undergrowth; within the woodland; on the grass areas, a lot of it is hidden, a lot of it is in plain sight. Dog poo bags, cans, bottles, pizza boxes, PPE masks, PPE gloves, carrier bags, paper plates, bin bags - it’s appalling. If I had a litter picker myself and a handful of bin bags I’d have picked it up myself, but that’s not the point - we pay through our taxes to have our parks and green spaces kept clean and tidy, and while I appreciate the challenges of COVID-19, this is unacceptable. So, please can you get a team to visit the park, get deep in those bushes and woodland, and give the whole place a thorough tidy and litterpick.
The entrance road and paths from the South Eden Park Road car park also needs a thorough sweep; dirt, detritus and litter all need sweeping up. The areas around the abandoned building to the west of the car park also need sweeping to remove rubbish, dumped wood, detritus and litter.
The images enclosed show over 90 pieces of litter, and I suspect there is double, if not triple that in and around this park. I’ve also enclosed an image showing the route of my walk to give aid your operatives in helping clean the park up.
I’ve provided my phone number and would like to hear from someone about this please. I look forward to your response and the park being cleaned up. If this doesn’t happen ASAP, I will be logging a complaint.
Thanks.
