(FP293) No signposts, obstructions to path and risk to public health

Reported in the Enforcement category anonymously at 15:30, Wed 19 August 2020

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

My right to pass and repass along the way of FP293 has been obstructed at Jewels Hill heading Eastwards towards Hanbury Drive

Highway authorities have a duty to put up signposts at all junctions of footpaths, bridleways and byways with metalled roads. The signs must show whether the path is a footpath, bridleway, restricted byway or byway open to all traffic (BOAT) and may also show other information such as destination and distance. None of this has been implemented when you exit Jewels Wood and head Eastwards passed The Pump House and towards Hanbury Drive.

On the photos attached you will only see a sign post for the entry into Jewels Wood and there are no signposts directing the public to follow the path eastwards towards Hanbury Drive. This is a serious health risk as you are crossing a very busy road that needs to addressed urgently.

It appears that the eastward footpath after crossing Jewels Hill has not been maintained by the landowner or highway authority. This is impeding my right to use and the highway authorities have a duty or care to prevent a the stopping up or obstruction of this path.
