Traffic issues around 3 x schools
Reported via iOS in the Road and Pavement Issues category anonymously at 20:08, Tue 8 September 2020
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2285218.
What with social distancing and new rules from the schools with strict 5 minute slots to drop/collect children, means more parents and children waiting on already narrow payments at school pick up and drop off times. There is NO space and even an accidental bump could knock someone into the path of a passing car. Traffic is gridlocked and frustrated drivers speed past when they finally get through. What happened to promises of closed roads, traffic calming, and / or one way systems around schools to ensure parents and children can socially distance and safely get to and from school? Or is it because this isn’t in front of a an active Tory Councillor’s house so will continue to be ignored and nothing done until a fatality?

This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.
Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.State changed to: Internal referral
