Large tree over hanging my back garden from allotments
Reported via mobile in the Public Trees category anonymously at 12:21, Tue 1 June 2021
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2760964.
The tree is over hanging my back garden and blocking nearly all sunlight for most of the day. There is a broken branch also hanging above my garden and my children are unable to play out in it for fear of it one day falling and hitting one of them. The tree also drops seeds on my grass which causes it to die and not grows.

Question to Bromley council why cut this tree when I’m told you will not cut a tree just because it’s over hanging private property?

Thank you for your update. In this instance, the trees are making direct contact with the sheds and fences at the rear of the properties so pruning is required to prevent damage being caused, there are also some dead/broken branches that require removal in order to make the trees safe. For more information about how and why we manage our trees please refer to our Tree Management Strategy: https://www.bromley.gov.uk/ downloads/ file/ 3334/ tree_management_strategy_2016-2020

Can you please advise when this tree is due to be pruned back? There appears to be children from the neighbouring flats next door trying to climb up it and they have been warned that it is dangerous given the dead branches that are hanging over my garden. Thank you

I have received a notification today to say that this has been completed. However, I have returned home from work today to find as per the pictures attached to show that there has been no change at all to the tree that is still currently overhanging my garden from the allotments and as per the photos still has the broken branches at the top were as previously stated these are dangerous and my children are unable to play in our garden for fear of it breaking and falling on them and they are still touching the shed as previously stated by yourselves in the full report. Please provide me with before and after photos to show me what has been completed. I do not expect the tree to have been completely removed but I was expecting the branches to have been removed that are overhanging into my property and causing issues with my grass and is currently making my garden unsafe to us for myself and children. The tree does not show any signs of being pruned at all. I think it is outrageous that I have now waited nearly and entire year for a tree to be pruned then to be informed this was done , to then find that it hasn’t been touched at all. This is unacceptable my children have no where to play until this is rectified.
