Over grown bushes
Reported via mobile in the Parks and Greenspace category anonymously at 00:29, Mon 12 July 2021
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2857230.
Bushes way overgrown I come out of my back gate and all I see is rubbish in the bushes they really needs to be looked into and I really recommend it will be beneficial if the bush was just gutted out and removed because it grows so quick then and because it doesn’t get cut down often enough it ends up being overgrown please can this be dealt with ASAP many thanks

This problem is now getting worse and because I live on the corner people are dumping more stuff including these fence panels which was blocking access to get out of my back garden so I’ve had to move them to the alley way this is getting beyond a joke now the bush needs to be gone and used as better walking space instead of a dumping area or ever given to me or neighbour as a extension of our garden as everyone else’s garden are longer

Bushes have been looked at today but only cut down a very small amount it needs cutting down completely because like I said people keep dumping stuff in it and there is still rubbish in the bush and whoever cut it down have dumped a bag from the bushes in the road as you can see from these pictures. So this problem has not been fixed

This has not been resolved because the bushes have not been but down far enough people are still dumping stuff in the bushes and I see people being suspicious picking up or hiding stuff in them like drugs I even come out my back gate sometimes and I’ve seen human poo right outside my gate, I’ve got young kids and they play outside sometimes and they have nearly fallen on to a needle syringe which I guess people who use them for drugs it’s me and other neighbours and have had to clear it up and safely dispose of it correctly, us residents should not be having to clear up other peoples mess and dirty habits this has gone on far to long and nothing seems to be getting done it’s needs to be dealt with asap and properly this has got to stop I already made a suggestion before of saying just to cut the bush completely down and gut it out so it doesn’t grow anymore and it would make more sense to do that it will save the council money for having to come out every 6 months to a year to cut it down any if it goes it will be a cleaner and safer environment for everyone especially kids that play near it. If there is no bush then no complaints, no dumping, no hassle, no money loss for council and then you’ll get happier Residents. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN THIS BE LOOKED AT ASAP AS THIS IS ALSO A HAZARD TO ME WHEN I STEP OUT OF MY BACK GATE INTO DIRTY RUBBISH OR USED NEEDLES THIS ISSUE HAS GONE ON WAY TO LONG NOW ITS BECOMING A REALLY UNSAFE, UNCLEAN ENVIRONMENT AND VERY FRUSTRATING FOR RESIDENTS LIVING NEARBY ESPECIALLY ME WHEN IT SITS RIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY BACK GATE.

Nothing has still not been done with cutting down the bushes or removing rubbish from them also I’ve noticed people going in occasionally and putting something in there and picking it up later the was broken glass outside my back gate the other day and my 3 year old near stepped in it the bush is just a dumping ground to hide all sorts in it wether it be rubbish general waste, glass items house furniture it’s a disgrace and a hazard to also could be a fire hazard when there is stuff leaning up my back gate and blocking me to have any access in or out of back garden gate the bush needs to be gutted out and completely removed I also think it would be beneficial to save money instead of keep getting contractors out to deal with it and never doing a decent job on it and it would make better use to let someone extend their garden if was allowed to do so. I hope this gets looked into properly and resolved quickly because it’s getting a complete joke now something needs to be done before there are any accidents from any hazards in or around the bush area or my back gate

I have inspected the area and the cut back of the vegetation is in line with what we expect from our Grounds Maintenance contractor. Our contractors will not litter pick in the middle of the vegetation and we will not remove the bushes as we believe this would simply create an empty space encouraging further fly tipping.
