Misdirecting Road Closure Sign

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2933726.

On the approach road to Downe village there are continually road closure signs without any idea where the closure is. This effects visitors to the golf club,Xmas tree farm,Downe House to name just a few affected business's On Wednesday 11th there was a road closure sign with the diversion directing traffic down West hill / Milking Lane which is a dead end access to west kent golf club and emergency access for biggin hill airport. The narrow lane was jammed with confused,stressed and very angry motorists.

  • Thank you for your enquiry.

    This has been escalated to Openreach to check their diversion and add additional signage to avoid confusion.

    The Council inspected the closure on 19/08/2021 and no motorists were being diverted down West Hill and nor was this diversion agreed with The Council.

    Luxted Road and Single Street will continue to be closed until the end of the week between the hours of 09:00-16:00 daily.
