Very overgrown tree hanging over property and blocking light

Reported via desktop in the Public Trees category anonymously at 15:26, Thu 2 September 2021

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

The tree outside 5 Hampden Road is very overgrown (reaching the height of the house) to the extent that it is encroaching on private property (actually touching the house) and blocking light to two floors of the house. The roots of the tree are also lifting the pavement. The issue has been apparent since we moved earlier this year.

Would appreciate if the tree could be appropriately pruned ASAP.

  • Why is this issue taking so long to action. Please can you provide a number that I can call to discuss the delay? The tree currently comes in through the windows if open and needs to be dealt with as a matter of urgency.

  • Thank you for your comments. I am sorry it is not possible to give an exact time frame for completion of the works given that the physical volume of works raised each day during the summer which is our busiest period of the year. The contractor has the works and are in hand to be completed as a priority.

  • Many thanks for your response. I can understand that there are a large number of works raised during the summer but this issue was raised last September, almost a year ago. I have been told that this will be dealt with as a matter of priority since January. How long would it usually take for a priority issue to be resolved?
