Drain stinks outside my house.

Reported via mobile in the Road, Pavement and PROW Issues category anonymously at 14:20, Friday 3 September 2021

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

In dry weather the drain stinks. You cannot leave windows in front of house open because of the smell. You cannot have a conversation outside because of the smell. It may well be effecting our health. I Don't know for sure but I would not be surprised if there is not some kind of possible health issue. I have reported this in the past. This really needs to be kept on top of especially as forecast is for warm dry weather. Mr hayes My mobile 07770 924397 Home 0208 466 6322 8 great elms Rd.

  • Hi, thank you for carrying out the work. I was on holiday at the time the work was carried out. I spoke to my neighbour at number 10 great elms recently. He informed me that one of the workmen told him on the day the work was done that they could not get to the drain outside my house number 8 because of a parked car. The workman also told my neighbour that he recalled the same issue had happened previously. All the other drains in the road were worked on. So what can be done to get around the issue of parked cars above the drain outside number 8 ? Can the single bay be suspended prior to a planned return date to do the appropriate work? The smell is not pleasant again.

Kind regards. Terry and Vanessa Hayes.
