  • Please note that there is a risk of local flooding, exacerbated by numerous blocked drainage gullies in this area. Sevenoaks Way / Cray Avenue, immediately downhill from this location on Station Approach, was severely flooded on Tuesday 20 July. The carriageway was then knee-deep in water, outside the Nugent Shopping Centre. Please can maintenance of all local drainage be scheduled for urgent review and action?

  • Thank you for your comments, unfortunately during periods of severe and heavy rainfall surface water drainage assets can reach maximum capacity preventing rainfall from draining away quicker than usual from the road surface which can then cause problems from mild ponding to actual flooding of an area. As noted above the drainage assets in this area are due to be attended as part of our routine gully cleansing schedule in the near future.
