New junction safety issue
Reported via mobile in the Road, Pavement and PROW Issues category anonymously at 07:30, Tuesday 5 October 2021
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
The creation of the new junction by the library has been an absolute farce. So far has taken months and not finished. No lighting. Roundabout in wrong place. Pavement wider and coming out into road confusing drivers. There will be a serious accident here soon. Please tell me that this is due to be completed this week as children walk down here daily and I worry someone will be hurt
Thank you for your report, this is now being investigated. Information on our services and the timeframes we aim to respond in can be found: http://www.bromley.gov.uk/ fixservices

This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.
Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.

The Roundabout needs to be moved, since the junction and pavement has been altered there is no way cars can go 'around' the roundabout when turning right from pickhurst lane onto hayes street, and as a result cut in front of the roundabout, this is extremely dangerous. I am an experienced driving instructor and witness several near misses daily.

Thank you for your recent report on Fix My Street in relation to the new road lay out in Hayes village, in particular the roundabout at the junction of Hayes Street and Pickhurst Lane.
The scheme itself is not yet complete, with highway resurfacing and new line marking still due to take place. Unfortunately, this process has been delayed due to a national shortage of required materials.
Our traffic engineering team are looking at the issue you mention as a matter of urgency, to see what temporary measures can be taken in the meantime.
