Trees have worse canker

Reported via mobile in the Public Trees category anonymously at 08:11, Thu 18 November 2021

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

Belle Vue Rd, Downe green area with 2 diseased trees. I reported this over a year ago. I am a professional gardener. 'Someone' apparently reviewed this tree from your department or employed by your department and deemed it fit and not requiring any work. Now one half of one of the trees is completely dead as is one Eucalyptus in a neighbouring garden. This tree needs remedial works if not removing completely as does the neighbouring tree. Canker spreads and kills as has happened here, and the original infected tree is now a danger to anyone walking or playing near it due to the risk of branches breaking/falling.

  • Reported canker on trees before and it was deemed as 'not a problem'. Since then a whole limb has fallen off the tree and the infection has spread to surrounding trees including one in a local garden. Reported a second time and told it will be dealt with in time.
