Still waiting for yellow lines
Reported via desktop in the Road, Pavement and PROW Issues category anonymously at 15:30, Wed 24 November 2021
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3141775.
More than 18 months after first being reported to council & despite a ‘consultation’ & traffic management order - there is still NO SIGN of the double yellow lines which are needed by the crossing.
People crossing here CANNOT see any approaching vehicles because the council ALLOW vehicles to park within a few yards of the crossing island. I know many people have reported the same issue & I presume either the council can’t afford a tin of yellow paint, or they are waiting until somebody is knocked down.
Usually councils love making it very difficult for people to park, but in this instance it seems the council doesn’t give a ****

This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.
Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.State changed to: Internal referral
