Public pavement is unusable due to vegetation and landslips/mud
Reported via desktop in the Road, Pavement and PROW Issues category anonymously at 13:05, Tue 30 November 2021
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3151484.
There is meant to be a full public pavement on the approach to Kevingtown on Crockenhill Rd. This is just up from the main entrance to kent House Hospital and joins onto the pavement that runs through the hamlet of Kevingtown. This pavement is now non-existant due to lack of upkeep by the council, encroachment of vegetation and landslips/mud from the verge. This road is very dangerous as it is as cars regularly break the speed limit and as there is no pavement for pedestrians to safely walk along the danger is increased tenfold. As far as I can see this has been an issue that has existed for a long time and I am aware that numerous residents of Kevingtown have complained but nothing has been done to solve the problem. I would request that this is investigated as soon as possible and a solution found. Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

You indicate that "Appropriate action has been taken to resolve the issue". Which cannot be true. Nothing appears to have been done at all. The path, which should run from the western edge of Kevingtown, along Crockenhill Rd and almost to the turn off to Kent Hospital is non-existent. Can you please check this issue again and provide a sensible and thorough solution to the problem. This issue is dangerous and a complete negation of your responsibilities towards ensuring that all walkways, paths and pavements are safe and accessible. As far as I am concerned your actions and response so far have not been acceptable.

The vegetation has been cut back at this location and as there is no formal made footway here, any request for one would need t be considered by our Traffic and Road Safety Team.

This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.
Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.Posted by Bromley Council at 14:00, Tue 11 January 2022
