Noisey manhole / inspection cover lid. Moving when vehicles drive over it.

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

The manhole / inspection chamber cover which is a 2 piece item is making a very loud noise when vehicles drive over it. It also moves as they pass over. Please note that a resident has sprayed a yellow line around the manhole cover lid & an X in it!

Location: in Hayes Lane, outside house number 31 Hayes Lane, BR3 6QS. Adjacent junction with Kenwood Drive.

  • A contractor came and put tarmac over the manhole - Unfortunately it does not stop the manhole from moving and the noise has got worse. I am not sure if this was supposed to be a temporary fix but it has not solved the issue .

  • Further to the post on 23rd December 2021, the issue is unresolved as sted in that post. A permanent solution is required from Thames Water.
