Lamp post knocked down by car
Reported via desktop in the Street Lighting and Road Signs category anonymously at 09:49, Fri 24 December 2021
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3197465.
Last night a car knocked down the kerbside lamp post outside our property (140 Kingsway, BR5 1PU) in a hit-and-run incident. The electrics are exposed, and the pavement, often used by elderly people, is now dangerously dark.

The remains of the lamp post (approx. 1m) is sticking out of the pavement at a steep angle and poses a danger to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.

Yesterday the post for the new street light has been placed next to the wall, not near the road where the stump of the old lamp post still is. Our water and gas mains run just along that wall as well (within a foot). We wonder why the lamp post couldn't be placed in the original position, and whether the very close proximity to the gas and water mains needs to be investigated.
