Not sure how to report this ... A new working lamp has been fitted which is an improvement, of sorts. However unlike the other inverted cone lamps in The Avenue, unmade section, this design is highly directional LED. The lamp is right next to a large branch of a mature tree. The combination of highly directional lamp light, and the tree branch casts a deep black shadow right where drivers need to see pedestrians crossing, and the change from Tarmac road to the unmade, potholey mud and stones road. It is not helped by there being a large gap to the next lamp column. Please consider changing the lamp to a wide spread inverted cone version. Alternatively, I am afraid to suggest, please relocate the column to the other side, east, of the tree. It would not be very environmentally good to lop the large branch. I find the new LED lamps might save energy, but they are unfit for purpose. They have a small area of illumination, below the lamp, and at the same time create a dazzling glare, which you cannot help looking at, which ruins your night vision. The warm orange inverted cone lamps have no glare, no stark shadows, and spread the light around evenly, especially where lamp columns are widely separated, such as here. This is a problem with the Borough wide lamp replacements. Maybe low energy and computer timed dimmable, but unfit for the purpose of evenly illuminating roads without stark LED glare. You might like to visit at night to see the problem and compare this lamp with the other soft orange lamps already there. Even home lighting LED bulbs offer 'warm white' colour temperature versions instead of cold dazzling white. Lighting is a science!

Re. FMS questionnaire about being Fixed, this is not a yes or no answer. Yes, a new lamp head, working, has been fitted. No, the type of lamp is not like the other inverted cone, warm glow lamps in this part of the road which spread light around to cover the large separation of the columns. This is a new, harsh white, LED lamp which is highly directional and points to the area below the lamp. As it is immediately next to a large tree branch so, along with the dazzling light quality, the high directionality casts a huge black shadow on the area of the road, so that part of the road is invisible. This is important as this is where the council Tarmac road turns into the unmade road of soil and huge potholes. This is also where people cross at the junction, which is also a route to St Mary's Primary School. The lamp head has been replaced, yes, but the intended illumination is inadequate. Being low energy is not enough - it primarily has to do the job of lighting up the road evenly. Using a current style inverted cone, warm glow, non dazzling, wide light spread lamp instead head might improve things.
