I have been reporting the poor state of these benches on the green in the middle of Downe village for some time (via [officer] at Bromley Council). They need replacing. To date no action has been taken. Today, a visitor sat on one bench and was nearly injured. The benches need to be CONDEMNED and replaced ASAP. They are a DANGER TO THE PUBLIC

It is probably about a YEAR since I first drew Bromley Councils attention to these public benches. They are is desperate need of replacement - and - as previously reported - one is dangerous and has collapsed. Despite updates - and e-mails from the Officer concerned NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ! Please give me a date when they will be replaced - the next communication from me will be to Council Leader Colin Smith !!!

To see the dilapidated bench picture. We put hazard tape around the bench, as it had collapsed when a visitor sat on it. People have removed the tape and are still attempting to sit on it. The Council will need to prepare for an injury claim - you cannot say you were not warned !
