Several large cracks in Cycle Track, Jubilee Country Park
Reported via desktop in the Road, Pavement and PROW Issues category by Jennie Randall at 22:00, Sunday 16 January 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
On 6th August 2020 I reported a large crack in the Cycle Track at Jubilee Country Park which is a trip hazard for pedestrians and very dangerous for cyclists. Other than it being highlighted in paint on several occasions, 18 months later absolutely nothing has been done about it. On 22nd February 2021, I witnessed a very bad accident when a cyclist was thrown from his bicycle when it hit another significant crack in the Cycle Track. The Council's response to this was to highlight this crack, along with numerous others all along the Cycle Track and to put up signs to warn cyclists to dismount due to the dangerous cracks. Almost a year on, the signs have disappeared as have most of the paint highlights but nothing whatsoever has been done to repair the Cycle Track so it is safe both for cyclists and pedestrians. It is now worse than when the accident I witnessed occured. This is just not good enough and something permanent needs to be done to resurface the entire Cycle Track, not just keep putting more paint on each crack every time I make a complaint.
