Every effort must be made to ensure the tree remains and no action taken without a consultation of the residents who benefit and enjoy this majestic lime

Dear Resident, unfortunately this tree is going to be felled. A notice will be put on the tree stating Bromley's intention. The tree has been inspected and is in poor condition as in a root decaying fungi at the base of the tree. The tree leans towards property's and could fail. (Fall over on the house) Public safety is paramount in stations like this. Thank you for the interest you have shown.

These works have been added to our priority list to be completed asap. Please note the number of emergency callouts raised as result of damage caused by recent storms (Eunice & Franklin) may delay completion. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.

This tree is flourishing, has exhibited exceptional growth and there is no evidence of anything wrong with it. The council have been asked to supply the evidence that it is in a "poor condition" and this has not been forthcoming. Local councillors have now been informed to intervene; this tree must not be felled without evidence that it needs to be.
Given that it has been over half a year and no action has been taken it is suspected that the council does not have a leg to stand on with this issue, recognising this is a healthy tree that is not a threat to safety

Thank you for your comments. The Lime may exhibit exceptional growth and vitality, but sadly the lower stem is colonised with a wood decay pathogen that does not affect the vitality of the tree. The wood decay pathogen degrades wood internally which will affect the structural integrity of the tree, to complicate matters the tree has a lean towards a residents property. In not wanting to take any risks to persons or property, the difficult decision has been made to have the tree removed on the grounds of health and safety, with a replacement planted next planting season starting in November. I apologise for the delays in getting the works completed, the contracts manager has been contacted and it has been requested that the works are undertaken in the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your patience whilst we work to resolve your enquiry.

In January Bromley was asked to supply the evidence that there is anything wrong, and has not so. They must not fell this tree without providing proof to the local residents.
Bromley, what tests have been undertaken? Lab results? Expert opinion and credentials of the expert? Provide what you have on this matter.

Please read comments above again. The tree has been inspected by a Qualified Arboriculture Officer. We do not need to take any results to a lab. We have informed the residents by a sign put on the tree. Our commitment is to public safety. We do not fell healthy trees . Thank you.
