There are a number of bags of old batteries which have been dropped or thrown onto the road in Plaistow Lane BR1 3AS this morning, some have been damaged by passing traffic and therefore risk being spread across the highway causing a potential risk, particularly to cyclists and motorcyclists, they could also be flicked up by passing vehicles causing potential damage and danger to a range of road users. The split and ruptured batteries are also spilling their chemical contents onto the road surface and these chemicals could be washed into the drainage system and cause undesirable environmental contamination. Please could it be arranged for this matter to be dealt with as a matter of urgency.
