Huge tree outside 5 and 7 Ash Grove needs pruning/significantly reducing.
Reported via desktop in the Public Trees category anonymously at 12:00, Fri 18 February 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3321736.
The strong winds today have knocked down another tree nearby blocking the road just now. The tree we are reporting is probably younger, however the tall long branches are moving and bending and some are falling on the ground. It is dangerous and needs to be cut back, especially if we are going to be getting storms like this. The Council should not wait for life threatening accidents to happen.

The issue is that we have, right outside properties 5 and 7 Ash Grove, a massive tree that needs reducing because the branches are far too long and spread out far too close to our houses. When we have extreme weather, seeing the branches shaking about is scary and alarming. The unattended tree could cause us serious harm should bits of it fall on us or on the actual house. During the storm in last February it was very frightening, hence our reporting the problems to you.
In today's update you say that something has been done to resolve the issue. However there is nothing apparent that has been done.
Would you please write to me with details of what it is that has been done and what you are planning to do about reducing the size of the tree/trees.
Thanks.

The dead branches have been removed from the crown of the tree, and it has been inspected by a qualified tree officer.
The works undertaken to this tree are consistent with the instructions to our contractor and relate to an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue, please note that works beyond that to reduce the tree size to allow more light, prune clear of telephone lines etc will not be taken as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy (https://www.bromley.gov.uk/ downloads/ file/ 3334/ tree_management_strategy_2016-2020)
