Dangerous parking
Reported via desktop in the Highway Enforcement category anonymously at 16:41, Tue 12 April 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3455413.
Parking on the bend (next to the bowls club) is currently legal but highly dangerous. Vehicles driving up the road on the left hand side must overtake parked vehicles on a blind bend. Several times I have been faced with an oncoming vehicle on the opposite side of the road which has had to do an emergency stop to avoid running into me. I imagine there are near collisions every day. There is not enough room for two cars to pass which leads to delay and confrontation, especially when two lines of traffic make it difficult to back up. All this could be avoided if the double yellow lines continued all the way around the corner. There is plenty of alternative parking (in the Rec ground car park and in nearby side roads)

This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.
Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.Posted by Bromley Council at 10:03, Tue 3 May 2022
