Early morning street cleaning on a Bank Hoilday!
Reported via mobile in the Street Cleansing category anonymously at 13:58, Wed 20 April 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3470809.
Dear Bromley Council, Please can you kindly explain why my street was being cleaned at 7 o'clock on bank holiday Monday. The registration of the vehicle that you will need to look into is, KY19 KCF. Maybe next time there is a bank holiday you might get them to clean your street at that time of the morning ? Then you can see how you feel about being woken up by a loud, ruthless lorry that takes its time to drive down the road, occasionally stopping and making an utter, inexplicable amount of noise on a bank holiday. I've complained to you before in the past when they used to do at 6 o'clock on a Saturday and Sunday morning and that has ceased. Now, suddenly we're putting these lorries onto our roads on bank holidays. Do you do that on the posh roads in Chislehurst? Probably not because you send them round onto the housing estate instead. I look forward to your reply, Mrs R

Dear resident, your comments have been referred to our Service provider Veolia who undertake Street Cleansing. We would like to apologise for the noise from the large mechanical sweeper that inconvenienced you on Bank Holiday Monday and woke you up at 7am. Beaconsfield road is scheduled for a mechanical channel sweep once a month on a Monday. In this instance, Beaconsfield road was scheduled for Monday 18th April along with many other neighbouring roads in Mottingham. As the carriageways are swept monthly, Veolia endeavours to adhere to contract sweeping frequencies to ensure cleansing standards are met. As you have raised this noise issue, Beaconsfield road will be added to a list of roads that are to be mechanically swept after 7am This report will now be closed.
