  • This is not just in the location shown in the photo. It is on both sides of the road as well. It really does need sorting out quickly as it is in an unacceptable state.

  • Good day, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your comments have been passed to LanGuards our weed spraying contractor for their attention. The 1st weed spraying application commenced on 25th April 2022 in the borough. Please allow 7-10 days for dieback to occur, the area will be cleared under normal cleansing. • Whilst there appears to have been some weed spraying it has been very hit and miss - with the emphasis on miss! Some weeds around trees have not been sprayed at all and neither have pavements verges or gutters - especially in the stretch from number 22 Highfield Drive towards the Grove - but the whole road is a matter of hit and miss. It very clearly needs a further visit with the job done properly this time. Please ask LanGuards to do this as a matter of priority as it is now more than a month since the Borough spraying commenced. Thank you.

  • Thank you for your additional comments. We have shared these with our weed spraying subcontractor (Languard) for their attention. Highfield Drive was treated on 23.05.22 Please take a note that some weeds take much longer to show treatment i.e., Knot Grass, Red Shank and other common broad-leaved weeds, please allow another week for dieback to occur. Dead weeds will be removed through routine Street Cleansing. This report will now be closed.

  • Noted re dieback time - but there are locations where, very clearly, the contractor has not sprayed. Some of the weeds by the side of the pavement - next to the wall of the house - has had to be cleared by the owner of the house. But other locations around trees and gutters need attention.

  • Your additional comments have been forwarded to our weed spraying subcontractor (Languard) and they have confirmed that it will be re-treated within next week (Tuesday) as its BH long weekend and we’re not working.

  • The supposed respraying either hasn’t been done or it has been as ineffective as the first time - see photographic examples in just one short stretch of Highfield Drive. Will you now please get the contractor to return and do the job properly (a bit of quality control by the contractor wouldn’t go amiss either). Perhaps you need to review the contract if this is an example of this company’s work.
