New Street lamp placed in middle of pavement

This Street lamp is in a dangerous position. It has been placed in the middle of the pavement and not at the edge of the road like the existing lamp. Please move to correct and safe position

    The current policy of column placement is to the back of the footway where possible, to increase available passing space for pushchairs / buggies, wheelchairs and reduce hazards for the visually impaired, if that is not possible we look to site them to allow for the columns we install now having a deeper planting depth to increase the ground pressure holding the column in place, this depth may not have been available due proximity of underground services at or near the original location.

  • This lamp column is not at the back of the footway. You can clearly see it is in the middle of the footway.

    You have reduced the available passing space for pushchairs / buggies, wheelchairs and increased hazards for the visually impaired. All lamps around here are at the edge of the road. Please get it moved to a safe position.
