Verge weeds

Reported via iOS in the Parks and Greenspace category anonymously at 19:02, Wednesday 4 May 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

Street verges in Kynaston Road appear to have been indiscriminately sprayed with weed killer to destroy dandelions. Can LBB confirm if this was carried out by a contractor as overspray has resulted in large patches of dead grass as well as weeds. Am asking question with a view to preventing other verges in the area (such as Gillmans Road) from having similar damage to good grass.

  • Many thanks for your enquiry. We can confirm no hard surface weed treatment applications have been undertaken in this location, but more so, that application would never include coverage of any verges with the aim of treating specific growth. We will refer this enquiry to our colleagues within Parks and Greenspaces who manage grass verges for their investigation and reply as to the cause of any die back. Kind regards
