Over grown tree
Reported via mobile in the Public Trees category anonymously at 12:25, Wed 18 May 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3534159.
The tree needs cutting, as it's overgrown and blocking the pathway. This is on a school route and I've seen children walk in the road to avoid walking under the tree, which then becomes a safety issue. This tree is located outside number 1 and 1A.

You have contacted us about Lime tree(s) that have low branches that are obstructing the road and/or footway. Lime trees in particular are known for their vigorous growth around the base and lower part of the stem which can cause an obstruction to users of our highways. In order to address this recurring issue, the Council has a yearly pruning schedule that includes every Lime tree in the Borough. We have around 2300 Lime trees on our highways and they all require pruning every year, the low branches are removed up to a height of around 3 metres. The pruning schedule usually begins in June and continues through the Summer until all of the trees have been pruned.
The tree(s) you have mentioned are therefore due to be pruned soon, thank you for your patience whilst we work to complete this essential pruning work and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
