Broken gate into park

Reported via mobile in the Parks and Greenspace category anonymously at 09:36, Tue 24 May 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3546845.

The locked gate going into the park has been broken and no longer locks, therefore anybody can get into the park with a vehicle. Should only be used by council and emergency services.

  • Please see photo, I'm only concerned as we have several youthes that frequent the park area and cause problems, if they find out they could bring a vehicle into the park 🙄 goodness only knows what they would do..(smash and break)

  • The gate has been vandalized even more, now the hinge has been broken away from the main post. I've noticed that at the change of shift in the fire station several cars use it to get to the back of the firehouse as their normal route has been blocked by them building a back gate into the Library car park.....is this why the council are ignoring the problem? As it stands a couple of night ago in the park, there where teenagers in a car riding round on the grass in a car, they obviously got in via the broken gate. Why, if the firemen needed to get I to their back carpark, did they not ask for the key, from the council, or like the rest of us " park in the street".?

  • Great news, there is now a large chain that has been fixed through the gate and round a tree, so the gate cannot be opened without a key, thank you.......dont know if it's just temporary until it can be soldered, or permanent, but at least it stops wrong vehicle from getting into the park .

  • Update, went to the park this morning 😡 the gate has been left open, I presume by the Firemen, see photos, you would think they knew about health and safety, but the chain is locked and left on the ground for anybody to trip over. See photos 😱 please have a word... I've closed the gate so they will have to get out of their cars.🤭
