  • Won’t a bin just attract (even) more litter?

Posted anonymously at 08:36, Monday 30 May 2022

  • Well litter goes in a bin so bobs your in is problem solved !

  • Unfortunately bins get ‘misused’.....and will need emptying, otherwise the rubbish they attract, for example by motorists who will stop and clear out the rubbish in their vehicles rather than taking it home, let alone larger item flytipping, will be scattered by foxes, birds etc, causing even more mess...

Gosshill Road, at the entrance to the Hawkwood estate, as a ‘case study’ had this problem when it had bins....

So, NO, NOT a good idea.....

Take YOUR rubbish home has to be the message....

  • Bin being used in any which way is fine as long as the rubbish gets in the bin. In an ideal world people would take their rubbish home but it’s not and they don’t so answer is - as it is in many places -provide a bin, empty bin regularly and everyone’s happy.
