Dogs off lead
Reported via iOS in the Dog Related Incident category anonymously at 19:21, Wednesday 25 May 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
I regularly walk this park, and there is an increased frequency of dogs off lead. Many of the owners aren’t paying attention to their dogs as they are walking in front of their off lead dog(s) or occupied with their mobile. I’ve had poorly trained dogs jump on me three times within the last month including today. Today walking a single loop, I counted 6 out of 10 dogs off lead. This isn’t out of the ordinary, This could be potential dangerous to children, adults and other dogs. I’m not sure what the solution is. Perhaps post prominent notices about owner responsibility and penalties at all the entrances like you did with the dog fouling problem. Thank you.

Thank you for your report. South Hill Woods is an area where dogs are permitted and there is no requirement for dogs to be kept on a lead, although owners are responsible for their dogs behaviour. Dogs must not be allowed to be ‘dangerously out of control’, which means injuring someone or making someone fear they may be injured. This applies to any breed or type of dog. I will alert our Parks Security for their awareness during their routine patrols.
