Resident at no2 feeding foxes around 8pm every night

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

Area currently have a infestation of foxes, the foxes are not afraid of people and will confidently walk up to children.

Resident here seen feeding wild foxes by hand around 8pm-8:15pm attracting many foxes outside around this time, further to this direct feeding has resulted in foxes that will approach people and openly occupy peoples gardens around dusk.

  • Frankly what do you expect the Council to do and why are you wasting their time and therefore my Council Tax. This is a perfectly legal and normal thing to do. You should be ashamed for reporting it. Council officers have better things to do

  • I agree with this report, I have lived in the area and foxes has been a major problem for many years, foxes in this area are not afraid of people and cars and will sit in the middle of the road or lie on lawns around dusk.

    This resident should not be hand feeding them, he/she needs some education on how to interact with urban wildlife and not exacerbate the problem for his own gratification.

    The council can only have involvement if the food is being left out on the public highway.

    Foxes are well adapted to both town and country life and will live and breed in both environments. Wherever you live there is therefore a good chance that foxes at least occasionally pass through your garden.

    The Fox Project can advise on deterring foxes from entering properties and advise on the names of contractors offering a specialist pest control service for foxes.
