Road closure signs

Reported via mobile in the Utility Works and Temporary Traffic Lights category anonymously at 16:42, Thursday 26 May 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

There seems to be no control of contractors using road closed signage.Monday and Tuesday last had road closed sign at the junction of shire lane and new road hill leading to Downe. There were no closure at least to west hill .This meant members and visitors to west kent golf club were falsely diverted. This is a common occurrence.I did report it by telephone to no avail.a reply would be appreciated and some lbb supervision would help.Regards D Edwards

    State changed to: In progress

  • Thank you for your enquiry.

Luxted Road and Single Street are being closed daily during off peak hours (09:00-16:00) by Openreach for fibre optic related works.

The signs in place state the road ahead is closed and is to prevent motorists needing to turn around in Downe Village.

Openreach have previously reported motorists ignoring the road closed signs and driving up to their works area in Luxted Road/Single Street and then needing to turn around in the narrow country lane, which is why these advanced road ahead closed signs have been put in place.

    State changed to: Fixed
