Danger for children and dogs
Reported via desktop in the Request for Park Infrastructure category by Jennie Randall at 19:38, Fri 27 May 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3556961.
From the St. James' pedestrian entrance to Jubilee Country Park, walk along the bridle path until reaching the first set of green bar way gates. Turn left through the gate, then immediately left again along a recently cut grass path. A short way along, you will find a large pond that has developed right beside the path. It is a danger to children who could fall in and possibly drown or become ill by swallowing the water. It is also a danger to dogs who are entering the stagnant water (which is harmful to their health) and also getting covered in mud. I checked it today and the water is quite deep with a build-up of silt and mud at the bottom of it. I have had many complaints from dog walkers about this matter, one of whom said her dog was unwell after entering the pond. The pond needs to be either filled in or securely fenced off as soon as possible as it is a hazard.
