New street lamp installed

Reported via desktop in the Lamp Column Damaged category anonymously at 11:40, Thursday 2 June 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

Yesterday a new LED street lamp was installed directly outside my home (3 Beechwood Avenue BR67EX). The contractor that was fitting the lamp explained that the new lamps were angled to not spill into private residents properties. As you can see in the attached pictures taken at 11pm, my garden has been illuminated to such a degree that even with out blinds shut, the inside of the house is lit up to the point that it is difficult to sleep. We cannot be in our garden in the evening without being illuminated all of the neighbours. This is dreadful light pollution, and really invasive.

  • Hi thanks for trying to resolve this. Unfortunately the action taken has not prevented the light spill adequately enough. The attached picture was taken last night at 11pm and as you can see, my garden looks as though it is the middle of the day with the street lamp clearly visible. Please let me know what the next course of action will be. Thank you D Morris
