Overhanging base of tree

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 11:51, Friday 17 June 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

Outside no 8 The Avenue, Orpington, BR6 9AS there is a very large tree, and the growth at the bottom is extending into the road making it difficult for me to see oncoming vehicles when I want to leave my drive (no 4) by car. I usually advise of this problem every year and it gets rectified. Thanks

  • Thank you for contacting Bromley Council regarding this issue. These trees are on the contractor's list of required works. Our contractors are currently removing the epicormic regrowth on lime trees across the Borough. They will also prune back these trees as soon as they work their way to this location.

  • The problem I informed you about on 17 June re the overhanging foliage at the base of the tree has still not been rectified, and I wonder if you’re able to advise when it might be. I’m having to venture further still into my road before I can see any oncoming vehicles, which is not ideal. Many thanks. Lynda Eisenhut (Mrs)

  • The order for these tree works has been raised with the Council’s contractor and remains outstanding within their planned schedule of works. We will continue to liaise with our contractor until the works are completed.
