Inadequate no entry signage and road markings.

Reported via mobile in the Sign Missing/Damaged category anonymously at 22:43, Friday 24 June 2022

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

I Reported this some months ago but no action has been taken. Unfortunately cars still drive down the wrong side of this duel carriageway and it is very dangerous to both vehicles and people crossing the road. . The duel carriageway Allington road requires no entry signs in the appropriate places at each end as there are none at the moment. Give way signs need to be provided at both ends. A keep left bollard needs to be provided at each end. The one at the Andover road end has an arrow but the one at Crofton Road has no markings. White lines and appropriate white markings need re marking and placing where omitted so they are clear and correct for direction of use of each carriageway. A No stopping yellow box needs to be placed at the Crofton Road end of Allington Road to prevent vehicles blocking the road in an emergency when they stop at the new Zebra crossing.

  • An engineer has investigated the report and advises that we cannot justify introducing additional signs here. There is a keep left bollard already at the junction. This arrangement has worked for years and even as a bus route. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and see if there are any future opportunities to make changes to the road.
