Public footpath has been obstructed by locked gate with no way around.
Reported via desktop in the Public Right of Way footpath category anonymously at 14:41, Fri 1 July 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3640173.
This padlocked gate was put up during the first lockdown. It's never unlocked stopping people from using the path. It's a public footpath that has been used for generations. Many people can't climb over the locked gate to get past, so they are stopped from using this public right of way. Complaints have been made about this issue before. Nothing has yet been done. There needs to be foot access around this gate so the footpath can be used, as is the public's right to do so. Thank you very much for your time and effort in this issue that is a concern for the local population of Hayes. As the footpath has always been well used by people young and old and will continue to be with your help.

Many thanks for bringing this to our attention. I can confirm that this is not a public right of way and is private land, even if many people have used it before the installation of this locked gate. This is private land and unless you have the permission to walk on areas that are not the public right of way by the landowner, you are trespassing and private action could be taken against you for doing so. For further information on Bromley Councils public rights of way, please visit the following website www.bromley,.gov.uk and enter in the search box on the home screen, public rights of way map, here you can see all the footpaths, bridleways and byways that the public can use. I hope this information is helpful so you can enjoy our wonderful and diverse Borough. Many thanks and kind regards, JPR - 05/07/22
