  • Thank you for the enquiry, Lime trees in particular are known for their vigorous growth around the base and lower part of the stem which can cause an obstruction to users of our highways. In order to address this recurring issue, the Council has a yearly pruning schedule that includes every Lime tree in the Borough. We have around 2300 Lime trees on our highways and they all require pruning every year, the low branches are removed up to a height of around 3 metres. The pruning schedule usually begins in June and continues through the Summer until all of the trees have been pruned. the epicormic growth will be removed as part of this schedule.

  • The feedback I have received is this will be completed sometime before Sept. As I now cannot see when I reverse off my drive I'm assuming I can prune this tree myself? This is a H&S issue, especially with a school on this road

  • This is now a considerable health and safety issue, I cannot see when driving from and onto my drive, a small child on a scooter will be hidden by this overgrowth. Equally its impossible to see what is coming up Oxhawth Crescent when driving off. This is an accident waiting to happen
