Enormous Plane trees
Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 16:27, Wed 3 August 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3728370.
The plane trees in Oakwood Avenue are due to be pollarded every 3 years. With Lockdown this did not happen. We were assured that they would be pollarded by the end of May.this years.Unfortunately this did not happen.,The trees now meet in the middle of the road all the way up. The leaves fall from July to April and blow in resident's gardens every day. The trees are so huge now the problem is overwhelming. Last year the leaves were piled by residents in all the gutters.. Litter was dumped.and the problem was horrendous. A gardener commented yesterday that this year we will drown in leaves! Growth is sprouting from the base of the trunks and covering the paths.. If left again the problems will get worse.next year . We have a bus route and school nearby. Please dear council all the residents would be grateful if you would hear our plea. It is such hard work every day clearing the leaves and many of us are elderly.

Thank you for your enquiry. The trees on Oakwood Avenue are on our Insurance pruning cycle, meaning that they are pruned every three years to mitigate against subsidence by regulating the water uptake of the trees. They are due to be pruned again this year. The work will be completed before the end of 2022.
