New light fittings shine onto bedrooms
Reported via mobile in the Light On All Day category anonymously at 00:45, Thu 4 August 2022
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3729311.
The lights on our streets were changed several months ago. They now shine brightly into our bedroom at night when the curtains are not drawn. On hot summer nights we now need to choose between drawing the curtains back so that we can have more air, but then having the bedroom lit up OR drawing the curtains so we can have more darkness and restricting the air flow. When the 2 engineers came in their truck and installed the lights I spoke to them to see if they could adjust the able of the light so that it would not shine into our bedroom (situated on the top floor of 2nd floor a town house). They could not adjust the light enough. The lights need a shade to be retrofitted to resolve the issue. Our quality of sleep has fallen as a result of the street light changes.

The engineer adjusted the light angle and also fixed a baffle. Fixed and very happy with the result. This makes a huge difference to our quality sleep during the heat wave. Thank you!
